Dear Neighborhoods,
Over these past several months we have received feedback with many questions on safety in Crystal Pointe. We have listened and are very pleased to announce Chief David Hofmann of LPD and Scott Salsberry with Lawrence DPW will be joining us at our Tuesday night meeting. This is the perfect time for anyone who has questions for either the police or public works to come and talk to the department’s representatives about their concerns. Some of the items we have slated for the Crime Watch and Public Safety discussion include:
Description of Crime Watch Program- simple things that can be changed to help fight crime
Review of CPHOA covenants -we will be stepping up enforcement beginning October 1st- starting with monitoring Proper Lighting, parking of trailers, etc.
Review of pothole repairs, sidewalks, and speed limit signs with DPW
Review of Kirkpatrick Compliance Officers who will monitor safety concerns
Review City of Lawrence’s website on where to find LPD updated information and crime stat reports
Introduce homeowners to new LPD tools and services- body worn camera, UAVs, new HQ
Share and give information on LPD partnerships- Community Shred-It days, ReSet Center, NNO
Share information on other public safety programs- Crime Stoppers, CERTs, Citizens Academy, Community Safety Day, IMPDs active shooter programs
